Bollango revenue will come from services (for individuals and busineses), sale of content (audio, video, karaoke, etc.) and related products. Where does the content on Bollango website come from ? Bollango generates the information content. This includes movie, song, artist, and album information. In addition, Bollango also creates the lyrics database. Streaming audio on Bollango site is licensed from IPRS and PPL, two licensing authorities in India. For sale of audio, video, karoake music, Bollango is working with content providers - record companies for audio (mp3), video (mp4); Karaoke providers for karaoke music, etc. Many times when I am looking for a song at a site, I type in the song name and get the message "sorry not found". It is frustrating. Can Bollango help ? Yes. Bollango's phonetic search solves this exact problem. When looking for a song (or movie or artist), you are writing a hindi word in english. You can write "rup tera mastana" for a song saved as "roop tera mastana" in the database. Bollango's phonetic search understands this. What should I do ? Change the default MP3 player to Media Player or RealPlayer (see below). How do I change my default MP3 player ? Music Discovery is a service from Bollango that helps you get caught up on music of your liking. Let's say you want to catch up with dance music, subscribe to Bollango's ClubMix, and this will be added to your playlist. Every time you view ClubMix, you'll find five (5) new songs you can listen to and save the ones you like in your playlist. Also, you'll receive a Bollogram notification when a new song of your subscribed channel is released. To start with, Bollongo will introduce (4) Music Discovery Channels at $0.99c/month/channel What is a Bollogram ? A Bollogram is a email-card with embedded music, picture, and your personalized message. Pick a song from Bollango's big database, upload your own picture or pick a Bollango picture (thumbnail size). Phonetic Search Help

Bollango's Phonetic-smart Search™. Since we are writing a hindi word in english, there is no notion of correct spelling. "roop", "rup", "ruup", are all phonetically correct, so are "muquaddar" and "mukaddar". Bollango understands.

Bollango's Dot Names™. Not sure of the exact spelling of actor, singer, movie, or song ? Use Bollango's dot names™. A dot (.) in a name matches the remaining portion of the name. For example, "a. bachchan" will match "amitabh bachchan" (as well as "ajitabh bachchan").

Bollango's Index ™. For your convenience, Bollango Index lists movies, albums (coming soon), and artists (actor, singer, music director, etc.) alphabetically. Currently the artist entries links to the IMDB database. This will change as Bollango builds it's own.

Bollango's Cross Reference Search ™. Want to find out the movies where Rajesh Khanna acted, Kishore sang, and R. D. Burman gave music ? Use Bollango's Advanced Search and prepare to be impressed ! Note: You can use Bollango Index to select artist names (actor, singer, music director, etc.) for the cross reference search. When used from the "Advanced Search Page", this uses a pop-up window. Make sure your browser allows pop-ups.

Karaoke on Bollango

Bollango offers Karaoke via it's Meragana and eSnips interface. To play the karaoke tracks, you must be a Meragana member.

Meragana Membership ($4.95/month) If you are a Meragana member, create a free Bollango account using your Meragana email ID and password. This will enable access to Meragana tracks. If you ARE NOT a Meragana member, click here for Meragana Membership ($4.95/month) Finding a karaoke track and playing it. Simply search for the song. If the song has a karaoke track, you will see either (Meragna) or (eSnips) button with the song listing. Just click on the button to play the karaoke track.

Playlist Help

All registered users can create, save and use 3 playlists. Here is how you manage your playlists.

Adding songs to a playlist Click on the PL box on the left of the song. Select playlist from the picklist. Click on the button. Deleting songs from a playlist Select playlist you wish to edit from the picklist. Click the button. Unselect songs in the playlist. Click the button. Renaming a playlist Select playlist from the picklist. Click the button. Go to 'Info about this playlist' section (end of the page) Type in the new name in the 'Name/Rename' box Click the button. Playing a playlist To play the current playlist, click the button in the control row on top. To play a different playlist. Select playlist from the picklist. Click the button. Click the button in the control row on top. Difference between button and button. The button updates the selected playlist with the song selection in current page. The button shows the contents of the selected playlist. It DOES NOT update the selected playlist.

Bollango Points

Bollango's registered members earn point for their participation and contribution to the Bollango user community. High point holders are recognized on Bollango home page. In future, these points will be be redeemable for goods and services provided by Bollango. Points are earned as follows - 2 points each - for rating a song, movie, or artist 10 points + 2 points/vote for each star above 2s - for your published playlist, or article For example, your published playlist got 12 votes and has a 5 rating. You'll earn 10 + (5 - 2) * 12 * 2 = 82 points ! 5 points for each user who has made your playlist or article as his/her favorite 1/2 point for each song in your playlists 1 point for each song you listen to 2 points for published playlist you listen to

Music Predictor

As a registered member, once you identify 25 of your favorite songs, either by playing them, or putting them in your playlists, Bollango's Music Predictor extracts your music listening profile. Then have Bollango play songs of your taste. Click on the button in My Page

Music Discovery
